At The Old Police station, while waiting for the service to go live, we have been supporting an individual in the community as outreach support. We have received some great feedback from the Community Care Officer – Sarah.
Sarah has emailed the following
I wanted to contact you following my visit to TA and her Mum today.
I had the pleasure of meeting Support Worker – Jasmine- at my visit. I was overwhelmed Jasmine’s interaction with TA during my visit. The interaction between Jasmine and TA was just wonderful to see. To support TA’s communication, Jasmine confidently used MAKATON. To help TA engage, understand and feel comfortable, Jasmine sat on the floor with TA. Jasmine also used a soft toy to help TA to communicate and engage with her. This was some of the best support I’ve ever witnessed. During my conversation with TA’s Mum, I was told TA has started to use some speech – I am not surprised. TA’s Mum also commented on how happy she is with Jasmine. The positive relationships being formed here will only help TA even more when she moves out of the family home.
Please pass on my compliments and thanks to Jasmine. I hope I get the chance to meet her again in the near future.
In addition to this, Sarah was also incredibly impressed how we are providing support nor to TA that is fully person centred and how this will continue.
To acknowledge this with Jasmine she was presented with a Certificate and a £30 gift card.
